As I mentioned in my last post Promax Europe has just finished – and there are some very happy winners in the land of idents and promos right now. The only thing is that there are so many categories, I would have to write a blog post a day for the next two weeks to cover them all. Instead I will focus on the best channel branding and animation categories, which are most relevant to the things my lovely readers like to see..

Silver - Sport+ – Dream on – Dream on’s work here is very original and arresting – again, unfortunately they do not seem to have it on a site where I can embed it onto the blog – so you will have to click on the link to see it – worth it though!

These super minimal idents with static portraits of lots of “real” people are unlike any other branding I’ve seen – I would be interested to hear how the audience connects with them. An interesting angle to take…all filmed in Berlin over a period of a week.

and last, but not in any way least – here are the “Grand Prix” winners – categories that are not just about one particular piece of work, but about consistently strong output over the year – well done to these three production super-departments. The only thing I would say if any one from these companies is reading (Viasat excepted) - you should find ways of making it easier to share your content - something like a dedicated channel on Vimeo, would make it much easier! In general I find most big departments are very quick to upload things to their website, but in a non shareable way….
